Overview
After an acclaimed company debut conducting the Met premiere of Kaija Saariaho’s L’Amour de Loin in 2016, Susanna Mälkki returns to lead Stravinsky’s neoclassical dark comedy. Young star tenor Ben Bliss is the cad Tom Rakewell, alongside soprano Golda Schultz as the virtuous Anne Trulove and bass-baritone Christian Van Horn as the diabolical Nick Shadow. Jonathan Miller’s surreal production, last seen on the Met stage in 2015, also features mezzo-soprano Alice Coote as Baba the Turk and bass James Creswell as Anne’s father, Trulove.

Drake Relays officials announced Thursday that the 2020 relays canceled due to Iowa’s ongoing COVID-19 outbreak.Blake Boldon, the Franklin P. Johnson director of the Drake Relays, said in a news. Status: Rake Cancelled. After ditching freshman comedies Dads, Enlisted and Surviving Jack, FOX continues to clean house with the official cancellation of freshman drama Rake after one (low-rated) season. Like many Australia-to-America remakes, it fell flat without the humour or darkness of the original, and was cancelled after one season. The US remake of Rake, starring Greg Kinnear, only aired.

Why Did Rake Get Cancelled
Actor Greg Kinnear starred in an unsuccessful American adaptation of show back in 2014, but the series was cancelled after just one season. 8 Offspring Offspring is Australian comedy-drama series that follows 30-something obstetrician Nina Proudman as she navigates modern life with a group of fun (but messy) family and friends. A rake, short for rakehell (analogous to 'hellraiser'), is a historic term applied to a man who is habituated to immoral conduct, particularly womanising. Often a rake was also prodigal who wasted his (usually inherited) fortune on gambling, wine, women and song, incurring lavish debts in the process.
